Session

The academic session for the primary and the secondary sections is from January to December. Accommodating the Govt. holidays, there is a separate list of holidays and reliable academic calendar to be followed by CIHS.

14. Working Days and Holidays :

Normally CIHS will remain open on all working days except Friday and other sanctioned holidays.

15. Daily Routine :In addition to regular subjects the routine is enriched with assembly, P.T. games and sports, creative Classes, literary works etc.

16. School Hours, Break-ups, Lesson Preparation :

(i) The school begins at 7.45 am and breaks up at 1-50 pm.
(ii) The students of the classes, KG-I to Class II leave school at 11-40am. Each period consists of 50 minutes but the 1st period is 60 minutes.
(iii) The students are advised not to have coaching of any kind either at home or at any such centre. They should study and prepare their lessons at home on their own as per direction and guidance given by the school teachers. The students of KG should not read at home. Let them be children, not students at home.

17. Evaluation :

There will be two examinations in each academic session of one year :

i) Half-yearly Examination.
ii) Annual Examination.

Each of the above examination has two components :

i) Continuous Assessment (C.A) for 20 Marks.
ii) Academic Assessment (A.A.) for 80 Marks.

Continuous Assessment (C.A.) :
Each student will incessantly be evaluated in each subject during although the tenure of each examination for the following aspects and Marks:

a) Class work (C.W) - 10
b) Home work and investigative work (H.W) - 05
c) Class test (C.T) -05

This system of assessment in the cognitive and psychomotor domain of learning is continuous assessment. In Affective domain, it also includes the evaluation of students, personal development which consists of (a) school behavior (b) personal and social value.

The students will be followed with keen observation for the following aspects and will be assessed by remarks viz. `Excellent', 'Very good', 'Good' 'Asked for improvement' 'Not Satisfactory' accordingly.

Aspects of Assessment are as follows :

1. School Behavior :

a) Regularity.
b) Discipline.
c) Co-operation.
d) Active participation.
e) Perseverance.
f) Punctuality.

a) Patriotism.
b) Honesty.
c) Leadership.
d) Responsibility.

Considering the greater interest of the students, the honourable Directors of CIHS decided to take centrally arranged two class tests of 50 marks each at an equal interval during the tenure of each examination. The total mark thus obtained in the two C.Ts will be converted to the allocated Marks.

Academic Assessment (A.A.)

After completion of the syllabus of each session, there will be an examination in each subject where the students will be assessed for 100 marks and 50 marks according to the subject. This is Academic Assessment. The mark thus obtained will be converted to the allocated marks.

Thus the redistribution of Marks will be as follows.

Summative Assessment :

 

The obtained marks in the two examinations and continuous assessment will be cumulated and will be published as Summative Assessment in the form of progress report. This assessment will decide students' promotion to next higher class.

The result will be published according to the following table.
